These three thick, sturdy mixing bowls are durable, stable, lasting, stackable (making them storage-friendly), easy to clean, and versatile (microwave, refrigerator, oven, and dishwasher safe). What more can you ask for for $10? Some people prefer more bowls, but three is adequate for apartment dwellers. I highly recommend them.
Description of Pyrex Prepware 3-Piece Mixing Bowl Set, Clear
Microwave safe. Dishwasher safe. Set consists of 1, 1 1 2, and 2 1 2 quart. Clear.Glass is one of the best materials there is for mixing and storing food. Why? Because it doesn't pick up odors or tastes and so doesn't transfer any "extra" taste to your foods. Pyrex glass is especially desirable, as it's constructed to be durable and is safe to use in the oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher. Pyrex has been making quality glass products for the better part of a century--this company pioneered heat- and cold-resistant glassware--so when it comes to glass, they know whereof they speak. Keep wet and dry ingredients separated in these three bowls while you mix and bake, then store leftover cookie dough in one of them when you're done. The set costs less than your average music CD--not a bad deal considering the quality--and, if you're moderately careful, it will last you a lifetime. Bowls stack for easy storage. --Meg Heffernan
